Six Chinese cities, including Changsha, Foshan, Ningbo, Tangshan, Wuxi and Yantai, were newly added to the Global Cities Index and the Global Cities Outlook rankings of the 2018 Global Cities Report recently released by AT Kearney, a global management consulting firm.

Changsha appeared at the 124th spot on the Global Cities Index list, which analyzes the performance of 135 cities in the world in terms of 27 metrics across five dimensions: business activity, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience and political engagement. This year, the list included 27 Chinese cities compared to only seven in 2008.

Changsha ranked 67th on the Global Cities Outlook list, which measures the potential of these cities in line with 13 metrics across four dimensions: personal well-being, economics, innovation and governance. The number of Chinese cities on the list increased from 21 in 2015 to 27 in 2018.

Initiated in 2008, the report was one of the first in the world to rank cities in the light of their global standing, competitiveness and potential.
