Changsha celebrates 2018 Croisements Festival

A series of cultural activitieswill be held during the 2018 Croisements Festival which opened on April 24, according to the French Consulate General in Wuhan, rednet.cn reports.

Changsha, as one of the venues, will unveil various activities to celebrate the festival, which is known as France's largest cultural carnival overseas and the biggest foreign cultural festival in China.

Famous French artist Philippe Ramette will stage his first exhibition in China at Xie Zilong Photography Museum, bring a visual feast on sculptures, photography works and paintings he has created since the 1990s.

The French annual music festival Fête de la Musique, first celebrated in Paris in 1982, will come to Changsha in Mid-June, with a number of Chinese and French bands to offer a carnival of music.

Serge Teyssot-Gay, a famous French guitarist, and Xie Yugang, guitarist and figurehead of China's leading post rock band Wang Wen, will go on their music tours in France and China. They will meet audiences on May 23 in Changsha.

The festival, the 13th edition of its kind, will run until June 24.

It promotes cultural exchanges between the two countries through film screenings, drama, dance, concerts, visual arts and new media arts.
