Tourists flock to Hunan during Qingming holiday

This year, the three-day Qingming Festival holiday was a boon to Hunan’s tourism market with visitors swarming into its attractions.

The province, famous for its red tourism, received more than 11.64 million visitors during the Qingming Festival break, drawing revenues of 7.15 billion yuan, according to the Hunan Provincial Tourism Development Committee.

The province is now alive with travelers and DIY self-driving tours were most popular. Tourism authorities across the province staged a series of colorful and strongly distinctive events, gourmet food and folk customs are being encouraged by the local government to boost spring travel.

Inspection teams led by officials of the committee set to strengthen supervision and management of tourism market in an all-round way and forbid any illegal tourism marketing activities during the holiday.
