Foreign trade of agro produce rises 39.9 pct in 2017

Hunan's foreign trade of agricultural products reached 14.24 billion yuan in 2017, a 39.9 percent increase year-on-year, according to statistics recently released by Changsha Customs District, Hunan Daily reports.

Imports were 6.32 billion yuan, up 94.8 percent, and exports were 7.92 billion yuan, up 14.3 percent.

Exported agricultural products mainly included frozen pork, pork and offal and hog casings, while major imports comprised milk powder, soybean and cassava starch.

Baby formula products at the worth of 1.29 billion yuan were imported in 2017, up 86.9 percent, accounting for 20.4 percent of the province's total agro produce imports.
