Sautéed pork with chili pepper, a classic Hunan dish, again topped the list of the most ordered takeout dishes in Changsha in 2017, according to a big data report recently released by China's popular online food delivery service Ele.me.

It is followed by the menu items of porridge with minced pork and preserved egg and Zinger Burger.

Changsha ranked No. 14 among all Chinese cities in terms of total takeout orders, with average spending of 38 yuan per order, two yuan less than the national average.

The city's total takeout orders and transaction amount kept rapid growth in 2017, up 89.4 percent and 130 percent from 2016, respectively.

Males placed more orders than females, but females spent more than males.

White-collar workers contributed 80 percent to the city's total transaction amount and 67 percent to total orders, up five percentage points and seven percentage points.
