Changsha's GDP to exceed one trln yuan

Changsha will join the "one-trillion-yuan club" as its gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017 is expected to reach 1.02 trillion yuan, a 9-percent increase from the previous year, according to the work report delivered by the city's mayor Chen Wenhao at the Second Session of the 15th Changsha Municipal People's Congress that opened on Jan. 2 at Changsha People's Hall.


So far, a total of 16 countries have launched visa service centers in Changsha and 151 companies on the Fortune Global 500 have opened their presence in the city, Chen noted.


Changsha's GDP hit 747.8 billion yuan in the first three quarters of the year, with a nominal growth rate of over 11 percent.


Changsha has exerted great efforts to secure a 460 percent increase for its GDP over the past ten years.


The city has rolled out a series of preferential policies to boost the real economy and attract talented personnel.
