The curtain dropped on the event of "Culture City of East Asia 2017·Year of Changsha" with a grand art performance on Dec. 21 at the Meixihu International Culture and Arts Center in Changsha.

The art performance, themed on "Unforgettable Changsha," staged dances, songs and other shows highlighting Hunan's unique culture and special programs presented by Japanese and South Korean art troupes.

Changsha, Kyoto of Janpan and Daegu of South Korea were awarded the title "Culture City of East Asia 2017" in July 2016.

Changsha has rolled out more than 20 cultural exchange activities to celebrate the event since April.

Changsha, a city with a long history of 3,000 years, is well-known as one of the most culturally creative cities in China.

The Culture City of East Asia program is a trilateral partnership to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea. It has been held for three times since 2013.

Changsha is the fourth Chinese city to win the title.
