Hunan's Jan.-Nov. foreign trade up 49.2 pct

Hunan's import and export volume topped 216.18 billion yuan in the first eleven months of the year, a 49.2 percent increase year-on-year. In terms of trade growth, Hunan ranked 2nd among 31 Chinese provincial regions.

Of this figure, exports rose 45.6 percent year on year to 139.28 billion yuan, while imports jumped 56.2 percent to 76.9 billion yuan. 

Electromechanical products accounted for about 50 percent of the province's exports during the period between January and November. Exports of new- and high-tech products increased more than 70 percent.

In November, Hunan's total foreign trade was 26.81 billion yuan, up 30.9 percent year on year. Of the figure, 17.14 billion yuan came from exports, up 25.9 percent, and 9.67 billion yuan from imports, up 40.9 percent.

Hong Kong was Hunan's major trading partner during the January-November period. Hunan's trade volume with Hong Kong hit 34.17 billion yuan, up 44 percent. Its trade with the United States and Japan were 26.96 billion yuan and 11.97 billion yuan, up 33.9 percent and 60.8 percent, respectively. Its trade with the ASEAN countries and the EU rose by 55.2 percent and 48.6 percent.
