The number of models making their debut or going on sale at this year's expo will exceed that of any past expo, and there will be one global debut and 40 central China debuts.

A special hall was set up at the expo to showcase the new breakthroughs achieved by Hunan in new energy auto industry.

Hunan's new energy auto industry has entered a fast track for development. In the first three quarters of the year, the province's major new energy carmakers have produced a total of 36,649 vehicles, up 23 percent year on year, accounting for 8.6 percent of the national total.

The annual event is co-hosted by Changsha Municipal People's Government and China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

Established in 2005, the expo is one of the most important auto shows in central China.
