The trade volume between Hunan Province and the EU reached 24.58 billion yuan in the first ten months of the year, up 51.2 percent year on year.

Electromechanical products topped the list of both imports and exports. During the January-October period, Hunan exported 6.18 billion yuan worth of such products to the EU, up 59 percent year on year, accounting for 37.4 percent of its total exports to the EU. It imported 5.95 billion yuan worth of such goods from the EU, up 46.6 percent, accounting for 74 percent of its total imports from the EU.

In October, the CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. signed a framework supply agreement with Senvion, a global manufacturer of wind turbines based in Germany. This is the EU's first mass order of China-made megawatt-size wind turbines.

During the January-June period, Hunan's monthly imports and exports to the EU remained a steady growth. Germany, the UK and the Netherlands were the province's largest trading partners.
