Auto deals worth 13.45 bln yuan signed

A total of 17 projects worth 13.45 billion yuan (US$2.01 billion) were signed during the Hunan New Energy Automobile Industry Innovation and Development Summit held in Changsha, the capital city of Hunan Province, between November 14 and 15.

 

These projects cover such areas as manufacturing of complete new energy vehicles, batteries, charging pillars, components and parts and logistics.

 

In addition, the summit announced 101 auto industrial investment projects worth of 333.62 billion yuan (US$49.79 billion). Of the total, 26 are related to new energy and electric vehicles, involving an investment of 105.01 billion yuan (US$15.67 billion).

 

The summit gathered representatives from 147 companies related to complete vehicle manufacturers and auto part producers, including 27 Fortune 500 companies and 54 leading companies from 11 countries and regions.

 

Hunan, a province in Central China, has become an important auto industrial base of the country. Its new energy auto industry has entered a fast lane of development, with complete industrial chain formed.

 

In the first nine months of 2017, the major new energy vehicle producers in the province manufactured a total of 36,649 vehicles, up 23 percent year-on-year, accounting for 8.6 percent of the national total.

 

The event, the first edition of its kind, aims to promote exchange and cooperation between Hunan’s new energy auto industry and Fortune 500 companies.
