CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. unveiled a new product called Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) in Zhuzhou, central China's Hunan province.

A standard ART bus is about 30 meters long and equipped with sensors that can read the dimensions of roads and plan its own route. The bus has three carriages with a capacity of 300 people.

It costs around 400 to 700 million yuan (US$58 to 102 million) to build a kilometer of metro. ART costs around 150 to 200 million yuan per kilometer.

The world's first ART line will be launched in Zhuzhou, with a total length of 6.5 kilometers. Upon completion, it will be able to dock with the city's mid-low speed maglev train.
