China.org.cn

The world's largest kite flew above Songya Lake in Changsha County, Hunan province, on April 14, 2015. The 2,600-square-meter kite, which weighs more than 500 kilograms, broke the Guinness World Record for the largest soft kite in 2014. The huge kite, in the shape of a Chinese knot, was made over four months. In the center is a Chinese character "Fu," literally meaning auspiciousness, good fortune and luck. It was released to fly with the joint efforts made by nine kite flying masters and more than 50 volunteers. [Photo from Rednet.cn]
